Danielle Broyles – Founder & Artistic Director
Danielle is a musical theater professional and has performed all over San Diego in musicals with Moonlight Stage Productions: Cats, Crazy for You, Legally Blonde, Tommy, Music Man, Big Fish, and Sister Act (Tina), Lawrence Welk: Thoroughly Modern Millie, San Diego Musical Theatre: Guys and Dolls, White Christmas (Dance Captain) and West Side Story (Consuelo) , Starlight: High School Musical, Temecula Valley Players: Rent (Maureen), New Village Arts: 1940’s Radio Hour (Connie Miller) and Legally Blonde (Elle Woods), and has worked as a performer at both Sea World and Disneyland.
While she loves to perform, her passion is bringing the theatre arts to the youth. She has worked all over San Diego for the past 20+ years teaching, choreographing and directing for various youth theatre companies. She is a National Youth Arts award winning director and two-time award winning choreographer. One of her biggest accomplishments was starting San Elijo Middle School’s Rising Stars program and becoming the Program Director of the Starz2B program at Carrillo Elementary of which both school’s programs have transitioned to Students on Stage! along with San Elijo Elementary and La Costa Meadows. This program has the potential to change the lives of her students and her dream is to continue to grow this program and offer it to more schools and students across the county!
Susie Dycus- Program Director
A native of Southern California, Susie’s background is multi-faceted. Her experience includes performing, directing, choreographing, stage managing and teaching. Trained in classical ballet through her teenage years, her career took a turn toward musical theatre. She spent more than 5 years touring the country with the Broadway production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast where she served as dance captain and swing for a dozen roles. Regional theatre credits include Bye Bye Birdie (Kim), Grease (Marty), How To Succeed In Business, South Pacific, Can Can, and Hello Dolly among others. She was a Production and Entertainment Manager at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and has served as producer and director for multiple shows internationally in Asia. Her career even ventured to Las Vegas, where she spent a year performing with Siegfried and Roy at the Mirage. Susie has also made her way around the world performing and choreographing production shows on board multiple cruise lines. She is currently the Resident Director of BEETLEJUICE! for Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Susie holds a BFA in Musical Theatre and Dance from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. Trained in many genres of dance, Susie has studied and worked in both New York and Los Angeles. She has taught extensively in arts schools in California and Nevada, as well as her own dance studio in Orlando, FL. Susie has spent the last several years working with students in North San Diego County where she has choreographed over a dozen musicals with Ovation Theatre in Encinitas (favorites: The Addams Family, Something Rotten, Crazy for you, Freaky Friday, The Drowsy Chaperone). She has worked alongside Danielle Broyles since 2015 directing, choreographing, and stage managing productions with the SEMS Rising Stars, SEES Stars, and Carrillo Starz2B programs. Working with students and watching them achieve great strides in self confidence, mastering a dance or song, taking the lead, or conquering fears and challenges by putting themselves on a stage continues to bring Susie joy with each and every new cast she works with.
Andrea Ashton- Resident Choreographer
Andrea started dancing when she was 8 and found her passion in it. She danced competitively for 10 years in ballet, jazz and tap then continued her training at University of California, Irvine and received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. You can find her on stage right here in San Diego. Her past shows include Saturday Night Fever, SOMETHING ROTTEN!, Victor/Victoria, The Producers and Mamma Mia! (Moonlight Amphitheater) Crazy ForYou and Young Frankenstein, West Side Story (SDMT); Annie Get Your Gun (Candlelight Pavilion);WELKOME Home for the Holidays, Sweet Charity, Cabaret (Welk Theater). She has also performed in many shows at the Disneyland Resort, Knotts Berry Farm, Sea World and at The Grove with the Caruso Top Hats. Andrea has also been a teacher/choreographer for over 15 years. She has loved choreographing with Mrs. Broyles and Students on Stage in their summer camps since 2018 and most recently at SEES in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown!
Shannon McInnis- San Elijo Middle School Music Director
Shannon McInnis has taught at San Elijo Middle School since 2016. She directs Beginning Band, the Concert Band, Beginning & House Jazz Band, Advanced Golden Eagle Choir and Beginning Choir. A native of San Diego, Mrs. McInnis is a graduate of San Diego State University with a BA in Liberal Studies for Education and Minor in Music Education with a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching and California Teaching Credential in Music from Brandman University (now UMass Global). Her groups have performed all over Southern California including at Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Sea World, San Diego Padres Games, and at various band and choral festivals.
She has been playing instruments since she was 4 years old starting with the piano and adding instruments. Clarinet is her main instrument and she has been playing it for over 30 years. She has played and sung in several professional groups over the years and has been teaching music in schools since 2008. She is a life member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity and her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, California Choral Directors Association, and the Southern California Vocal Association.
Mrs. McInnis has been married for 25 years and has 2 sons, ages 20 & 17.
Krisann Deauville- Carrillo & LCM Co-Director & Choreographer
Beginning in backyard summer shows with her siblings and cousin as her sometimes-willing castmates, it was more than natural for Krisann to pursue performing arts with all her heart. With over thirty shows directed, choreographed, acted in, and/or produced under her belt, making engaging performances for all levels is one of her greatest joys.
With her knack for making beginners feel like they’re well past the novice stage, Krisann’s raw enthusiasm for all her students’ successes, no matter their ages or backgrounds, is immediately part of what makes theatre-making with her so comfortable, encouraging, and overall a great experience!.
When she’s not in the studio or on a stage, she can be found writing plays, coaching theatre competition groups, mentoring young authors, editing manuscripts, reading, enjoying travel with her family, or napping.
Amy Odenwalder- Carrillo Music Director
Amy Odenwalder is a flutist and music educator. She grew up in Mentor, Ohio and has been married for 20 years with two kids. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Akron and Brigham Young University and a Masters in Education from National University. Before working in education she was a DJ for KBYU-FM Classical Radio in Provo, UT, Manager for Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra in Fort Lauderdale, FL and a Booking Agent for Sitarist Kartik Sheshadri in Encinitas, CA. Once her children started school, she began substituting regularly for band, vocal and general elementary teachers while also being the PTA funded music teacher at Monte Vista Elementary School. Since 2017 she has been the full-time general music teacher at Carrillo Elementary School. Since she has been at Carrillo she has been recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2021 and last summer achieved a taste of internet fame when the recorder portion of her 5th grade promotion performance went viral with almost 8 million views on TikTok and Instagram. She currently plays flute and piccolo for the North County Winds and SD Music Consortium Wind Ensemble.
Anastasia Homes- SEMS Band Director
Anastasia Homes has been teaching at San Elijo Middle school since 2014. She directs Beginning Band, Golden Eagle Band, Wind Symphony, and Gig Jazz Band. In addition to this, Mrs. Homes serves as an instructor to the solo and ensemble groups that perform at the annual San Elijo Solo and Ensemble Festival. Bands under Mrs. Homes perform all over the community and have opportunities to perform at places like Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and Sea World.
She is a native of San Diego, California and is a product of the San Marcos Unified School District. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music and credential from California State University Fullerton. She also holds her Master’s Degree from California State University San Marcos. While in college, she performed all over the world and participated in various ensembles that have given her insight into many styles of music. Her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education and the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association.
Mrs. Homes has been married for 4 years and has 1 son aged 18 months.
Keith Ball- La Costa Meadows Music Director
My name is Keith K Ball, and I have been teaching music and choir at La Costa Meadows Elementary School for around 12 years now. I have full credentials in both teaching and music. As an educator, songwriter, recording artist and musician, I am passionate about teaching and sharing music. My goal is to instill a passion for music in each of my students in a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment.
I am inspired working with children and have had the privilege of raising two of my own. Trevor and Tiandra are now amazing and successful adults. I have also had the joy and luck to be married to my beautiful and wonderful wife, Nicole, for 30 years.
It is always such an honor to work with your children and teach them theater and music.
