CODE OF CONDUCT
Please review with your student.
Students on Stage is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, regardless of race, religion, gender identity and orientation, disability, or any other characteristic. We strive to create a welcoming and respectful atmosphere where everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to participate fully in our programs and activities.
This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all students, staff, teachers, volunteers, and parents/guardians. Participation in Students on Stage is only allowed if you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.
RESPECT AND INCLUSION
1. Treat everyone with respect. All participants are expected to treat fellow students, staff, teachers, volunteers, parents/guardians, and audience members with respect and kindness.
2. Inclusivity. Students on Stage embraces individuals of all backgrounds, abilities, and levels of experience. Discrimination, harassment, and bullying of any kind is prohibited.
3. Positive Environment. All participants should strive to create a supportive and positive environment, encouraging and celebrating each other’s successes.
ATTENDANCE AND PREPARATION
1. Commitment. Consistent attendance is vital for the success of Students on Stage and its productions. If you must miss a rehearsal, please notify a program director by email in advance.
2. Punctuality. Ensure you arrive on time for rehearsals, performances, and meetings. Lateness disrupts sessions and disrespects the time and effort of others.
3. Be prepared. Attend rehearsals and performances with all required materials. Fully engage in all activities. Your enthusiasm and involvement are crucial for your personal growth and the program’s success.
SAFETY AND PROPERTY
1. Safety first. Follow all safety guidelines and instructions. Immediately report any unsafe conditions or behaviors to a program director or another adult.
2. Respect for property. Care for all spaces, equipment, costumes, and props. Report any damages promptly to the program director or another adult.
COMMUNICATION
1. Open communication. Maintain open and honest communication with other participants and program directors. If you have concerns or problems, speak up early so they can be addressed.
2. Feedback. Constructive feedback is essential for our learning process. Offer and receive feedback respectfully and helpfully.
CONSEQUENCES
Violations of this Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary actions, from a warning to dismissal from the program, depending on the severity and frequency of the offense(s). However, Students on Stage also has the right to remove a participant from the program for reasons not explicitly mentioned in this Code of Conduct.
